We spend our days building custom software for other people. Along the way we kept solving the same problem for service businesses again and again - leads scattered across email, quotes in a spreadsheet, jobs on a wall planner, invoices chased from memory. So we built the thing we wished existed, started running our own company on it, and now we're opening it up. It's called Pipeline.
What Pipeline is
Pipeline is a complete CRM for service businesses - one calm place to run your leads, quotes, jobs, invoices and payments. It lives in the browser, with offline-first mobile apps for iOS and Android so field staff aren't stuck when the signal drops.
It's built for the people who actually do the work: tradespeople, installers, cleaners, gardeners, agencies, consultants - solo operators right up to teams of around fifty. The goal was never "another tool to learn." It was to replace the pile of spreadsheets, sticky notes and WhatsApp threads that most service businesses quietly run on.
We use it to run Nimble
This is the part we're proudest of. We don't demo Pipeline from a slide deck - we run our own business on it. Every enquiry, quote, project and payment at Nimble flows through it:
- Leads land from our website forms, email and phone, in one place, with an auto-response so nobody waits.
- Quotes go out with saved line items and optional add-ons, and clients accept and e-sign them online.
- Projects get scheduled, tracked and updated as the work moves - no separate planner to keep in sync.
- Invoices convert straight from completed work, and payments come in through Stripe without the chasing.
Because it's the system we depend on ourselves, the things that annoy us get fixed fast. We feel every rough edge before a customer does. That's a very different relationship than shipping software you never have to live with.
What's inside
- Lead management - capture from web forms, email, Google Business Profile and phone, with auto-response.
- Quotes & estimates - professional quotes with saved line items, optional add-ons, online acceptance and e-signature.
- Job management - visual scheduling, task templates, recurring jobs, photo and signature capture, and time tracking.
- Invoicing - one-click conversion from a completed job to an invoice.
- Customer portal - every quote, job, invoice, note, photo and email against one customer record.
- Appointments - let customers self-book surveys and consultations.
- Reports - eight built-in reports covering sales pipeline, conversion rates, revenue and aged debt.
- Mobile app - offline-first, with mileage tracking and field capture.
It connects to the tools you already use too - Xero, QuickBooks, Twilio SMS, Google Calendar, Stripe and Zapier - so Pipeline fits into your workflow rather than demanding you rebuild it.
Why we built it instead of buying one
We spend a lot of time on this blog making the honest case for buying off-the-shelf when it fits - see bespoke vs off-the-shelf software. Pipeline is us taking our own advice from the other side. Not every service business needs a fully bespoke platform; plenty need a well-made product that does the core job properly and gets out of the way. The generic CRMs we tried were either built for enterprise sales teams or bloated with features a two-van operation will never touch. So we built the focused version.
If you do outgrow it, we're the same people who build custom CRMs for a living - so there's a clear path forward rather than a dead end.
How to get it
Pipeline is launching now. There's a 7-day free trial with no card required and full access to every feature, plus free data import so you're not left staring at an empty system.
The pricing is deliberately simple - every plan gets every feature. No paywalls, no "upgrade to unlock." Plans differ only by how many users and how much storage you need:
- Solo - £12/month (or £10/month billed annually) for 1 user and 1 GB.
- Starter - £38/month (or £30/month annually) for up to 5 users and 5 GB.
- Professional - £63/month (or £50/month annually) for up to 15 users and 20 GB. Most popular.
- Enterprise - custom pricing for unlimited users and storage.
All prices are plus VAT, there are no setup fees, and there's a 30% discount for non-profits and educational users. Annual billing saves you roughly 20%.
Have a look at pipelineapp.co.uk to start a trial. If you'd rather talk through whether it fits your business - or whether you're actually in bespoke territory - get in touch and we'll give you a straight answer either way.
